DOUBLE-BREAK CONTACTS: double-break contacts. Way to use two sets of contacts to close or open the circuit of the contact mechanism. Open contact spacing faster than the single-contact structure is twice as fast, and therefore reduce arcing time, the contact surface temperature and corrosion of the contact material. This improves the heat dissipation speed and can provide a higher current handling capacity and working life. Are generally used in the crowd industrial control and DC circuit. See "Single-Break Contacts".
DT: double throw. See "Throw".
DUST TIGHT: dust. The sealing of the switch can withstand the contamination of the sand and dust.
ENVIRONMENTAL SEAL: switch entire completely sealed, so as to have a high level of protection level to resist solids, liquids and gas into its interior.
FIXED CONTACT (Stationary contact): fixed contacts. Stationary contacts. Are generally integrated in the switch internal pin end.
FLASH PLATING: thin plating. A very thin or very short production time plating layer (the thickness is usually less than 0.25 micron).
GOLD FLASH: Flash gold. A coating is very thin (less than 10 micro inches) of gold plating. Just as the oxidation and corrosion protection layer, in order to maintain the pin welding performance.
GULL WING: wing pin. A surface-mount the form of pin, the pin projecting from the edge of the switch, and has an L-shaped bend in its distal end.
INSERT MOLD: plug molded. Switch and relay products, refer to the pin into the mold, and injection molding. The main advantage of this process is due to have plastic wrapped to prevent flux and other contaminants along the pin exports into components internal. Pin export and therefore do not need to use epoxy to seal.
LATCHING ACTION: lock implementation. Contact closure circuit after the revocation of the pass power contacts institutions automatically maintain its position, the transmission force is applied again, and contacts in order to disconnect the circuit in the form of a switch. The position of the actuator can be clearly shown that the position of the contacts. See "Alternate Action" (or "Push-Push). LEAKAGE BARRIER: leakage isolation. The switch casing between the pin or between the contacts of a projection or a mesh mold, used to increase the distance between the pins or contacts.
LED: light emitting diode. With a long-life, low-energy features.
MAINTAINED: Fixed bit. When after the revocation of the driving force is applied to the switch actuator, the actuator position to keep the same kind of switch function mode. Compare "Momentary".
MAKE-BEFORE-BREAK (shorting, MBB):-break (shorted). Switching operation when the movable contact in an ON before disconnecting circuit before, first turned on the next circuit. Compare the "Break-Before-Make".
MAKE AND BREAK: make and break. Through one switch is connected to a circuit completely before this one switch is disconnected from a circuit connected to earlier.
NC: See "Normally Closed".
NO: to participate in the "Normally Open".
NON-SHORTING: See "Break-Before-Make."
NORMALLY CLOSED (NC): normally closed. If no action actuator contacts remain closed set of contacts.
OIL-TIGHT: impervious to oil. An ordinary panel seal Unit, generally used for industrial applications. Defined by NEMA standards.
OPEN FRAME: open frame. Occurred mainly in the slide switch, this structure makes it suitable for automated welding and post-weld cleaning process. Compare "Washable".
